The EU-China Joint Innovation Center’s China-Europe bilateral investment themed

On October 19, 2023 local time, the EU-China Joint Innovation Center, in conjunction with the Europe-China Innovation Fund (ECI Fund) and the Luxembourg International Bank (BIL), successfully hosted a China-Europe bilateral investment promotion themed luncheon at the De Warande Club in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. Patrick Hasaers, General Manager and Executive Director of Business Development at Luxembourg International Bank, Senior Customer Relationship Manager Kriescher Philippe, and Business Development and Wealth Planning Manager Michael Decoutere attended and participated in the discussion. Zhang Shasha, Deputy Director of the EU-China Joint Innovation Center, attended on behalf of the center and shared her insights.

The luncheon focused on China-Europe bilateral investment opportunities and investment services, with a particular emphasis on industries such as new energy and health care. It invited several well-known companies and institutions to participate, including Ziphius Vaccines, a well-known Belgian infectious disease field mRNA vaccine company; Capricorn Partners, a leading European venture capital institution; Kiewit Plaza Holdings, a Belgian equity investment fund; Heylen Group, an industrial investment company; IPAC, a financial services company; Flaronis, a consumer brand; and the Europe Asia Center. Topics such as “Analysis of Investment Opportunities in China’s Market in the New Era”, “Chinese Enterprises Expanding to European Markets”, “Support for Foreign Investors in China’s Special Economic Zones”, and “Progress in China’s Intellectual Property Protection and Innovation R&D” were discussed and negotiations for cooperation were held.

Zhang Shasha, Deputy Director of the EU-China Joint Innovation Center, analyzed and explained the investment environment and policy support for foreign investors in China in the new era. She also introduced in depth through a series of cases how to serve European companies’ investment in China and soft landing of business layout through the “European (China Region) Innovation Center” project (ECI Center), widely linking many cities and regions in China such as Beijing, Shanghai, Anhui, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, etc., while building a direct business channel between China and Europe to help Chinese companies go global.

At the meeting, companies welcomed and looked forward to the development of the European (China Region) Innovation Center in China. They hope to jointly use the platform of the European (China Region) Innovation Center to connect with various regions in China and carry out in-depth cooperation in areas such as bilateral innovation project investment, enterprise bilateral market expansion and localization, enterprise financial services.
